Why share stories?
Whether it's sharing feelings and experiences, educating people, or inspiring them to live better lives, we think stories are one of the most engaging and human ways to communicate.
There are so many reasons why people might want to share their health experiences, but here are a few great reasons below:

Motivating others
It can be very motivational for people living with a similar condition to see how other people have overcome daily challenges. It could be advice on sticking to treatment, or ideas about diet, exercise, or how to overcome stress, stigma or sad feelings. People often like to hear the experiences of others.
Sharing feelings
Sharing our thoughts and feelings can help people understand more about the experiences of others. This can help people feel less alone, or can provide reassurance about the future. Expressing the way we feel can sometimes help us too.
Gaining insights
Some people have some burning questions they'd like to ask their healthcare team, or suggestions on how they would like to be more involved in health decisions. Talking about their greatest needs, or sharing ideas about how things could be improved, can help the whole health community.
Educating
Explaining the impact of health conditions can be very useful to the health community. There may be things that have been overlooked, or they can provide a different perspective that is interesting to patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals.
